MUSIC WORKS INTERNATIONAL FURTHER SHAPES TOURING ROSTER WITH
ANTONIO SÁNCHEZ, FORQ, HOUSE OF WATERS
International booking agency broadens international relationships with new signings

Boston, MA | December 10, 2019 — Forging a strong foundation in global booking, Music Works International is pleased to announce the signing of drummer and composer ANTONIO SÁNCHEZ, jazz/rock supergroup FORQ, and genre-bending international fusion trio HOUSE OF WATERS to its family of touring artists.

GRAMMY Award-winning drummer and composer Antonio Sánchez has nine recordings to his credit as a band leader and solo artist. With his most recent projects including the 2019 release, Lines in the Sand, with his band Migration, and 2017’s Grammy-nominated sociopolitical Bad Hombre — he remains one of the most sought after percussionists on the international jazz scene today. An accomplished composer, Sánchez scored Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Birdman which was lauded with four Academy Awards, including Best Picture of the Year. Sánchez also won the Grammy for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media. Sánchez’s next album, his first on Warner Brothers, will be coming out in 2020.  MWI represents Antonio Sánchez in Europe.

Forq were founded in 2012 as a collaboration between keyboardist Henry Hey (David Bowie, Empire of the Sun, Jeff “Tain” Watts) and bass player Michael League (Bokanté, Snarky Puppy). Composed of world-class improvisers, Forq present a dynamic sound and a penchant for sonic exploration, but it is their unusually memorable, genre-blending songs that leave the most lasting impression. Now, with four releases to their credit including 2019’s aptly-named Four, Forq are comprised of guitarist Chris McQueen (Snarky Puppy, Bokanté), drummer Jason “JT” Thomas (Roy Hargrove’s RH Factor, Marcus Miller, Mark Lettieri Trio, Snarky Puppy), bassist Kevin Scott (Wayne Krantz, Jimmy Herring, Col. Bruce Hampton), and co-founder and keyboardist Henry Hey. MWI represents Forq worldwide.

House of Waters incorporate elements of jazz, psychedelia, indie rock, classical, and world music into their astonishingly different sound. With musical and cultural influences that stretch from India and Senegal through Ireland and the heart of New York City, one music critic called them, “the most original band on the planet.” House of Waters are versatile, original, yet difficult to label. They are a trio featuring the “Jimi Hendrix of Hammered Dulcimer”, Max ZT, an innovator of the instrument. With a strong background in jazz improvisation, Western classical music and the African inspired music of South America, bassist Moto Fukushima’s playing is an amazing combination of finesse, subtlety, and power. Drummer Ignacio Rivas Bixio combines South American rhythms with powerful fusion beats, making him one of the most sought-after drummers on the world music scene. MWI represents House of Waters worldwide.

“At MWI, we are united in the belief that creative artists like Antonio Sánchez, Forq, and House of Waters represent the future of global touring and support our mission in building audiences for both established and developing artists worldwide,” says Music Works International’s Katherine McVicker, adding, “we are grateful everyday to our incredible roster of talent who put their faith in us.”
