This year marks the 65th anniversary of the Newport Jazz Festival, and the third with Christian McBride as artistic director. The first wave of artists was announced on February 13 including Terence Blanchard Featuring the E-Collective fresh from his Grammy win. Others among the first wave list include Herbie Hancock, Corrine Bailey Rae, The Bad Plus, and another Grammy recipient, Cécile McLorin Salvant. Celebrate 65 years this August 2-4 at Fort Adams, in beautiful Newport, Rhode Island.
